Hello.

I have problem with my 2007 yaris D4D. I change complete engine, original engine has huge oil consumption but it starting and running ok. New engine is 2005 model, but every parts looks same. When i pull old engine out, i pull ecm wiring connector out.

New engine in, all wirings back. cranks good, but not run, no smoke. Fuel handpump is hard. All grounds are ok and wiring.

Check DTC techstream diagnostic tool

P0340, P0045, P1271, P0089, P1228, P0252

Cleaning DTC:s not possible, they come back.

I wonder if ECM broken? When i pull ECM connector out, Battery has allready disconnect.

Will anyone have any opinion on the problem?

Best Regards
Jussi

P0340 camshaft position sensor “A" circuit

P0045 Turbocharger / Supercharger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit / Open

P1271 Fuel Regulator Circuit Malfunction (EDU Drive)

P0089 Pressure Control Valve Plausibility to Consume Current High Intensity

P1228 Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Range / Performance (Cam / Rotor / Injector)

P0252 Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Range / Performance (Cam / Rotor / Injector)

There are a lot of codes here all with multiple possible outcomes however there is one issue that repeats with each code "Open or short" sound very much like a electrical issue.

I suggest you invest a few Euro register HERE input your cars details and download the diagnostic process for each code have a read through and see if you can see a common point such as a plug or earth point.

Looking at the codes, it's either dropped a ground or supply, so you need to check them

did you swap the engine loom over from the old engine ? As there could be a wiring change, was the engine out of a P90 or P10 ? And is it a known good engine ?

Engine is late 2005 p90, yes loom is old engine, if you mean engine wiring. New engine is 90 000km, according to the seller, engine is in good condition.

I try take sensors and fuel components in old engine?

I have other car 2005 corolla 1nd-tv 270 000km, alternator only replacement, no oil consumption.

You need to check power and grounds on the effected circuits,  also check ECD2 10a fuse

Fuses is ok. Battery to body ground is ok, body to gearbox cable is ok. Little brown cable to cylinder head is ok, Little white/black cable to body is ok. It is some other grounds? I clean all grounding points. Glowplug light in the cluster working ok.

Heater blower, headlights and all electirical equipment works fine.

Problem solved. My mistake, im only measurement fuse continuance. Problem is bad contact and corrosion on edc2 fuse. No dtc and engine run.

thanks to everyone
