Auris does suddenly does not appear to be running off the electric motor. Could a cable have disconnected?

No, one possible cause could be, the filter for the Battery cooling fan is blocked..

You would expect to see a warning light if there was a problem with the motor.

Hi,

if you can explain more about the issue, any warning lights on? In high winds Toyota hybrids usually will be running very little on ev power only and the petrol engine will drive the car even at lower speeds., the transition between electric and petrol will not be as smooth as when weather is calm and the car will feel a bit odd along with the typical shakes from the strong air stream that remains very much of landing at Luton airport 💨🛩🤨

I heard a "beep" as the car mounted an obstruction,  which led me to think there was some sort of disconnection. But no warning light appeared

Any wheel spins? If the transmission ecu detects any wheel spins from both driving wheels will cut any power  going to them and the car will be stuck, yellow warning light for traction control will blink and audio warning also is possible. If the car drives fine afterwards, just called an new experience and keep driving as usual. Any issues the warning lights will let you know. 👍

Meir, presumably the car has been switched off since the incident.  Have you driven it since?

Strangely enough, after mounting a slight kerb this afternoon to park offroad, the problem resolved itself, which leads me to my original suspicion of a loose cable somewhere. Though where to start looking, I have no idea.
