12v battery replacement

Did anyone replace the 12V AGM Battery with a flooded-type (conventional) one by any chance? I reached out to both local toyota dealership and another intl' owners club and got no objections whatsoever, apart from the safety concern should the Battery break since its in the cabin and contains fluids. Obviously matching exact specs CCA and Amperage to the AGM Yuasa one that came with the car.

Anyone with experience?

Safety not bother you then?

TBH, I'd be leery of making that change - I'm no authority on the subject, but I do know that AGM and flooded batteries have different target voltages and charging patterns; For instance, flooded batteries can be trickle/float-charged, but AGM batteries much prefer cyclic-charging.

Either will work, but if the wrong charge scheme is used it will shorten the life of the Battery noticeably, and I don't know if the hybrid 12v chargers can be switched between flooded and AGM charging profiles.

Apart from the safety factor which is the most important issue, my other concern would be the different way of charging the Battery.

Toyota will replace the Battery under their fixed price servicing for £105, their list price for the Battery alone was £109 plus VAT. You even get the car washed and vacuumed!

AGMs charge differently, wear deeper discharge better and are just generally better batteries.
