Hello I have a 2013 Toyota avensis t27 saloon 2.0 d4d  can anyone tell me if they have had a belt noise like it's slipping under load I replaced the belt with a new one and it still makes the same noise I even tried using belt spray if anything it made it worse. would it be a tensioner that's needed or a pulley elsewhere when going up hill or when changing to second third ect just seems like the belt is slipping and making a sqealing noise I took it to a mechanic who replaced the fan belt but said he didn't see anything wrong with the pulleys and was told its pointing towards a tensioner but it is annoying anyone else had or have this issue ??? 🙁

A known issue on 2.0 subject to a technical service bulletin

EG-0014T-0114

Subject: 1AD-FTV V-Belt abnormal noise

Models: AURIS; AVENSIS; COROLLA; VERSO

Model codes: ADE150; ADE157; ADE186; ADT250; ADT251; ADT270; ADT271; ADE150; AUR20; AUR21

DESCRIPTION OF PHENOMENON Some customers may experience and report squeaking noise from BELT, V-RIBBED around 1500~2000rpm, due to slipping of the belt on the pulleys.

PRODUCTION CHANGE The design of the BELT, V-RIBBED has been changed to avoid slipping.

Well folks took the car to the mechanic this morning and he said all the pulleys including tensioner is all perfect AC unit perfect too and all that squealing noise I was having is now gone cure was the genuine Toyota belt I got I'm well pleased took it up steep hills in hi gears also to make sure it was ok under pressure it's like a new car lol it's a good dry day so dunno if that helps I will know better on a wetter day maybe but the last belt I put on two weeks ago made the noise right away so I think it's cured thanks everyone for your help 😊👌

glad i told you that as  a taxi man told me that he had that anoying squealing and well 2 mechanics said all was working was ok and no fault .it was then leaving it into a toyota mechanic the taxi man told me a genuine toyota belt fixed the problem. im glad it fixed your problem also . says alot about  genuine parts .on my car i am only going to genuine toyota parts into it no mo motor factor parts for me i got enough of a sickened of motor factor shops off brand parts .the worst i had on my last car was off brand break discs and pads always after a month started to pulsate the breks shaking the car that happened me twice and well twice was me buying motorfactor parts . pure junk . plus micheak suppose u save money in not leaving it into toyota to find out that was the problem. i bet the last belt took out looked like new to. by chance what was the make of that belt that was in your car that was squeaking. was it gates or blueprint . plus michael well toyota would say going by your car and vin number it would have a ac pump in it and well on there record will say the belt u needed was one with a ac pump on it . kina need to find a toyota with a 2.0 d4d engine code  1adftv engine without a ac pump and maybe get a ac belt for that car a toyota one and hope it fits ok bypassing the ac pump. i to be honest not sure how long these ac pumps last before they start to give bother but might be a good idea to look into . i hope someone on here knows what ac bent number is and a link to getting it to suit the 1adftv 2.0 engine without a ac pump as i know this can be done.

Aye a taxi man I know told me that that off brand non genuine one was a few mill thicker and that was making the noise up agains the pulleys etc as the genuine Toyota one is made perfectly.be interesting 2 know what make the belt is as would be great for others to stay away from that brand .by chance is there any markings on the belt to let us know. Plus bud no matter how old the car is put genuine parts in well belt for sure and break disc and pads .filters etc I think as long as the oil is good quality and for the car should be good I see Ur not far from me if u need me run my scan tool if ever have a problem il run it on it for free .I bought a autel 808 pro there bought it as it has few extra features than my other one .I'm going 2 sell my other one on
