There's something akin to a clutch in the hybrid system, it's a damper plate. If you have watched any of the Weber university videos about the Prius hybrid teardowns, you'll see it mentioned. I imagine that is what the advert is referring to.

Sounds a bit like a main dealer quoting me for a sevice on my diesel CRV including new spark plugs.

When of course it should have been for a new diesel infrumper and plasamastic receiver.🚐

Not a clutch, but there is a torque damper plate on a hybrid, you can still get the 1.2 manual in Europe

Hahah,

all Toyota hybrids has a clutch damper ( similar to manual transmission clutch that is hard connected, no slip, no engaging and disengaging). Springs can wear off and break, cause a slip and hybrid system malfunction warning. When I had the warning myself I did check mine and was fine. On previous gen 3 these had some cases that springs give up due to an excessive engine knocking because of blockage in egr system. Here interesting video.
