I have a problem telematics DCM with my toyota corolla 2020 LE made in USA.

Which is Iam outside USA using this car for 5 months. recently the problem appeared which is when i start the car i hear sound says "Communication module activation failed please make sure you are in area with good Cellular coverage and try again, if you continue hear this message plz contact the dealer".

Regarding LED indicator lights beside the SOS after some flickering Red will remain continously.

I don't know if related or not Previously Headunit Entune Wifi hotspot was not working but was trying to connect but now it says you need active subscription when i press the hotspot.
So is there any relation that it might be some kind of subscription that has been ended thats why even DCM is not connecting anymore?

Also RSA feature "Road sign assistant" has not worked since i purchased the car!.

Fo your knowledge, The DCM and SOS feature is not working outside USA and I dont want to connect it to data center just want to deactivate it without right front speaker being lost! Or make other problems to the car.

i have tried pulling out the 7.5A myday fuse but it bcz of the speaker lose cant be done. Also dont want to open DCM module and rewire it.

please anyone has knowledge how to deal with it from to fix it outside USA.

there is no authorized dealer here to visit them.

European amd USA mobile network technoloy is different.

I think you need to replace the DCM unit with an european unit to use SOS and avoid DCM alarms.

It's no clear to me the problem of losing the central speaker.  Afaik this speaker should be reserved to SOS emergency calls, so if SOS feature is not available this speaker is useless, so you're not losing anything removing the fuse.

The problem i dont need DCM and SOS feature so it can be costumize the way it behave by using TECHSTREAM? or OBD scanners?

Just to make its failure notifications silent?

Thanks for your replay

By unplug ing the right front speaker will be lost to music and radio.

Thats the problem.

Have you tried it, tho ? If the module passes thought the audio it just needs a bypass

sos usually has its own speaker

Pins 2 and 3 input, 5 and 6 output

modules are usually the same pin out, but colours may be different

C-hr DCM pinouts

https://www.tochr.net/379/terminals_of_ecu.html

This can be done in headunit part or directly in DCM after unplug,

The second thing I can't understand these code pins, how to find ?

Thanks

Look at the link ? its at the DCM - pinouts are as you look at the connector or wire side of the plug

In US recently the 3G network was stopped and its not supported anymore and there were announcements that it will cause some issues with cars communication services. Best to check with dealers where the car is located. Not sure if this is what you are talking about but if yes it might be good to check. 👍

The DCM modules are 4G, different countries use differing mobile frequency bands for phone systems gsm-1800 is the main band with 850 as a secondary in the US, Mexico and most of the south Americas iirc

tbh im a bit rusty with the radio bands stuff

Cool, I had no idea of these ot infotainment technology , I don’t even listen standard radio in my car, all in from the phone and works best of all , and better resolution. Screen only for reverse camera😉👌

The SOS systems have been a requirement in all new production cars since 2018 (existing production did require it, eg, Yaris up to 2020 and Aygo up to late 21) in the UK and Europe

The DCM is a standalone module but is part of the connected services (connected via usb), it has its own GPS and connected to the can bus, so technically you can control the functions of the car remotely even remote start and track the car
