2013 Rav 4 head unit 53889 fault

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Head unit boots when started and then continues to reboot endlessly. Sat nav and hands free inoperative. Radio, reversing camera and trip information all working fine.

Up until about a month ago this was an intermittent fault sometimes working sometimes not. Now fault is there all the time. In desperation I have unplugged and removed the unit and then reinstalled to no avail. I have also spent considerable time trying to source a replacement but toyota seemed quite keen on regularly changing head unit wiring looms so even units that look like they will fit won't. As a last resort can anyone suggest a good after market unit with the same functions that will fit?

Hello Peter - I have same problem with the Head unit that  you describe above with a 2012  Diesel AWD Rav 4 . Did you get anywhere solving your problem?
