If there is fuel in the tank, and the fuel pump is primed and working, it may be worth checking your fuel filter. These get blocked and allow only a small amount of fuel through. When you stop, enough fuel seeps through the blocked filter so the car can start, but there's not enough coming through to keep the engine running.

Does sound like a blocked fuel line or filter.

The Mk1 Yaris has the most easily accessible fuel pump in the world (Life up rear seats, lift carpet, unscrew, there it is!), so if you're a DIY sort would be worth pulling the fuel sender out and having a look at it. Just be careful and cover everything so you don't get petrol in the carpet etc.!

Could also try running some V-Power petrol through it.

If you've only been using supermarket fuel and don't do a lot of miles, it's likely crud has been building up in your fuel lines for years, and the switch to E10 has caused some of it to break off and cause an obstruction.

The detergents in things like v-Power (or Redex) help break such deposits up.

I have not used Supermarket fuel since it screwed up the injectors on my wife's old Sportka. In my previous cars I used to put in some Redex every now and again just to clean out everything.
