brake system warning light

Looking for some help please. As above the warning light comes on for a bit then off again. Any ideas???

Hi, 

is it a yellow warning ⚠️ light and red light or only red light? Have you checked brake fluid level in the reservoir? Can be a low level, or perhaps a speed sensor or anything else along the system and best to run a diagnostic first to check for fault codes and take it from there. 👍

Red light only and stays on for about 5mins. Good shout i will check brake fluid level first before taking it for a diagnostic. Thanks again Paul

You are welcome. 
Red brake light can also be illuminated if the hand brake it’s not released properly as there is a switch on it somewhere, this needs checking on too after you have checked brake fluid level.

Problem solved, low brake fluid which led to a %$(ed rear caliper. Fixed and jobs a good yin.
