hello all, forgive me but this is my first ever post on a forum so hoping this is alright.

I have a 2006 mk 3 rav4 with a LCD display issue, The back light works very occasionally and got the better of me. Thinking it was proberbly a loose connection some where on the piug maybe, I  popped off trim undone 2 screws, pulled display and the see through front came off exposing the dials. as i got the rest off the cluster out i have caught the speedo needle and it moved a bit. I unpluged cluster to check for a connection issue and found nothing out of the ordinary. I have put everything back together moved needle back to 0  and the LCD display now works better than before but is still not right. However,  the speedo needle has dropped below 0mph when  left over night and is about 8 mph out, Hence now 32mph is really 40mph. Does anybody know how to solve this problem

thanks Gareth

You need to recalibrate the needle, pop the needle off and put it back on (2 teaspoon method)

thats great, you have just jogged my memory,  I have turned it all the way in opposite direction until it reached its max to move it on its splines  and done it that way thanks.

sometimes you just need to reboot
