100v AC invertor on Estima Hybrid 2010.

Hello Guys,

Does anyone know the location of DC to AC 100v, 1500W invertor on Estima Hybrid? I have read few msgs on Alphard forum, people did modification disconnecting input output from invertor and use the exiting ports for 12v USB connectors.

I want to do the same, but no clue on the location of the ACC invertor. Would appreciate if anyone know the location of Invertor and share some knowledge.

Many thanks in advance.

not 100% sure what you mean - do you mean, removing the 100v socket and putting a USB port in its place ? typically USB ports are 5v

eg. https://www.carousell.sg/p/toyota-vellfire-and-alphard-3a-usb-port-254425454/

you just disconnect the inverter

this is what it looks like

Hi Bob,

Many thanks for the response. You got my point, I want to replace 100v socket with dual USB charging port. In order for me to do that, I need to disconnect at invertor and make sure only 12V avl, even with AC switch next to steering is hit by mistake.

However, I have no clue on where about the invertor on My Estima Hybrid. Searched on internet gone thru lots of sites, unable to find.

BRgds...

Hi Bob,

Many Thanks for the info mate, really appreciate you effort to send youtube link. Seems like you have good knowledge on this car.

Best thing would be to replace the ac 100v outlet with Dual USB of same size and tap 12v from front cigarette lighter.

i am not sure if that 100 volts ac 1500watts plug at the rear of the estima hybrid comes from the high voltage Battery or the 12 volts one with an inverter which could drain quickly your way to start the petrol engine...in any case the cheaper safe  way is to buy ( Amazon us with 100 v plug $ us 20 ) a transformer which will give you a 12 volts dc cig lighter in 10 or 15 amps which can power anything.

Praveen, I put several USB charging points in my non hybrid Estima. Using the 12v supply from either an accessory wiring or running a permanent 12v line (fused) from the 12v Battery also using buck converters to drop 12v to 5v as Flash22 suggested. Sounds a lot easier than having to mess around with 100v Battery.
