New Tyres

I will be looking to replace the tyres on my fairly newly acquired Auris 1.2T Design in the coming months, not through wear on the current tyres but due to it having been fitted with 4 budget ditchfinder tyres either by the dealer or the previous owner immediately prior to trading in.

The spec of the car means that I have 17inch rims and would be interested to hear the opinions of others as to suitable replacements. I am usually drawn towards Michelin tyres and have always found them to wear well.

My priority for this car is quiet efficient running, long life and reasonable fuel efficiency (I have an MX5 to hoon around in!)

Take a look at the Goodyear Efficient Grip 2

Quiet, fuel efficient, long lasting (driven sensibly)

We have discussed couple of times here on the forum and seems the preferred choice of many are Michelin more specifically Cross climate all season and Goodyear vector 4 season tyres plus their summer tyres options. I have a set of these Goodyear efficient grip performance 2 since 2020 and they are really good touring tyres with exceptional grip in all conditions except 🥶❄️☃️ plus excellent comfort, soft side walls, low noise and vibrations. +1 for them 👌

I've got Michelin tyres on mine and have very little road noise.

Found them best on my past cars. Very fuel efficient and quiet as mentioned. Mine lasted for 25- 30k miles. Came with life time warranty -  one was punctured beyond repair and the seller/National replaced the tyre with a new one.

Now that's good service. You're also more likely to recommend them, as you just did, and buy from them again. No matter how you look at it, it's a win-win situation all round

You get far less road noise, cheaper tyres, tyres that last longer and much better ride from going down to 16" wheels.

i did that and am very glad I did.
