what do you reckon? which is the best overall engine for a swap and can i convert the gen 4 to rear wheel drive?

depends on what you want. the st 205 3s will give more power but a supercharger is availiable for the beams altezza wich puts power up to about 260bhp. as for RWD a lot of work as the tunnel and rear axle will need extensivly modding to fit everything in not to mention mods to the engine bay to accomodate a N/S engine/ gearbox arangement. its possible but will be ££££££££. would say go 3s-gte and FWD or sell and get a proper 4.

as long as the price is right shouldnt be too bad. should be a fairly straight forwad swap. make sure you get the engine harness and ecu as well as transmission and driveshafts though

well mate. it was a good idea while it lasted and i enjoyed the research, but ive decided against the swap.

for the ££££'s, i think i'll just buy a gen 5 gt4 and keep the gen 4 convertible as well, it is after all a summer car only and i need a cool ride for the winter.
