Hi, Tonight I popped out for a short journey and first of all the handbrake warning sign on the clock came on. The kandbrake wasn't on. Then the rear seatbelt warning sign started beeping at me shortly after. Any ideas? Thanks.

The handbrake light often doubles up as the brake fluid level low light, so check your fluid.  The fluid level can go down a bit if your brakes are getting worn.

Putting a bag or similar on a seat sometimes makes the car think there's someone sitting on that seat and activates the seatbelt light.

That makes perfect sense thank you. I've just had it checked by a reliable mechanic and he said the disks will be up for a change once my pads are done. I also had a bag of shopping on the seat next to me so it adds up.
