In the UK, where Toyota Owners Club is based, fitting LED bulbs into headlights designed for halogen, would mean a fail of the annual road worthiness test. Don't know what regulations your country has (Iceland?), so may be worthwhile checking.

LED bulbs can cause issues for other drivers due to increased glare, etc.

Assuming your car has HIR2 bulbs, there is a choice of upgrade halogen bulbs available which will give brighter lighting with increased range. Bulbs from Elta, PIAA, Philips, etc (eg Philips X-tremeVision Pro150) available from Amazon, eBay, and so on.

Having LED bulbs is legal in iceland

They are legal in the U.K. too, but as Mike has written, it depends on the original application. e.g., not legal when fitted in reflector light units.

Plus when fitting led into a headlights designed for halogen bulbs all you gain is trouble for the oncoming traffic, you won’t get any better light patterns. Best to buy a better halogen bulbs, stay within the law and have extra light at the price of shorter bulbs lifetime, usually the brighter the bulbs the shorter their life is. I personally use Phillips Eco Vision as I am a night driver and drive a lot, they have brightness as oem bulbs or tiny bit better but last a good time, Philips and Osram have a good selection of bulbs , you can look at Amazon for best prices and reviews from car owners.💡 👍

If you dont go too bright you can fit aftermarket HIDs that don't kill the beam pattern, but yes, they are not legal.

I've had great results with Osram Nightbreaker halogens too.  They still dont look as bright as leds but the light they cast is very good for your own visibility.
