Which Alarm

I've just bought a Yaris T sport import which is UK spec but has no alarm. It still has the deadlock and immobalizer but I need an alarm (especialy as where I work is a rough area) But I don't know which alarm to get! Which make is best. I don't want an alarm that does off every time a cat jumps on the car or someone brushes past it.

Please can someone help?

Cant beat the Tracker system, even if it does get nicked your guarenteed to get it back sharpish, if I had the cash I'd install that plus a decent alarm..

Mind you I know what alarm I want purely for the toys, Clifford Alarm with intellistart and headlight relay. Would love to be able to walk up to the car at night, click a button and have the engine start and the headlights pop up :) Although I believe with those toys installed it does not qualify for the CAT 1 standard :(

I was leaning towards a clifford alarm but I also heard that Toad (Ithink thats what they're called) also do very good cat 1 alarms.

Or there's Microscan I just don't know !!! :(

Technically Clifford systems are advanced over the other systems available - yes they have toys like intellistart and smart windows but they are also world class security systems. With the right system installed correctly by a good fitter, theres no reason to have a tracker on the Yaris TS because it simply wont get nicked - I can go into more detail on this but it's a bit late now!

OK - Well depends how much you have to spend and what you want out of it - if you just want a system on the car that will give you the same sort of level of cover as the factory fitted alarm would have if you had it - then you are probably looking for something like the Concept 300 system, this is fully installed for £350 at most car audio/security shops. If you in the midlands I can suggest a couple of places.

I started out with the Concept 300, and due to Cliffords design of all their current G4 alarm systems, I have built on the basic Concept 300 to include 90% of the features of their flagship AdventGuard 4 system.

Please let me know if there's anything specific you are interested in, I could go on all day about the different systems they do!

Cheers,

Steve.

I live in North London. I read up on the concept 300 I think I'll look up the price. Thats a good idea to add bits on.

Thanks

Well its a good starting point as it is Thatcham Cat 1, unlike the next one up, the Concept 400. It's also got loads of room for upgrade! Should be around £350 fully installed - doesnt really matter where in the country you are as the prices are all dictated to the dealers by Clifford themselfs.

I've had both Clifford and Toad in the past and they both seem to be adequate.... ultimately, if someone wants your car, they'll have it - no matter what system you have!!! <_<

So true - Unfortunatly !!

I'm gonna go the my local alarm/sterio shop and see how much they'll fit the clifford for I think it'l be £350 like you said Steve, I've looked on the web and it seems to be the avarage price.

I'm gonna see if I can get an interface and MD changer as well.
