I'm fairly new to auto repair. I've replaced plugs and wires on my 1998 Saturn SC2, and my mother-in-law just bought a '93 Corolla with 130K miles on it. I don't have an owner's manual.

I just want to know if there's anything quirky or odd to watch out for when changing the plugs/wires on the Corolla. Is it pretty basic, or is there something special to do on the Toyota?

Thanks.

The usual rules apply... do one at a time, don't mix them up, etc. Oh, and when changing the wires, pull the clips off the distributor end of the OEM spark plug wires and put them on the new wires. They may seem like they don't come off, but they do. I just replaced the original spark plug wires on my '93 with 140,000 miles, made a noticeable difference in fuel consumption (a pleasant one). If you haven't already purchased spark plug wires, I would wholeheartedly recommend you get the NGK spark plug wires.
