1996 Estima Emina turbo diesel

Hello all from Florida USA!  I recently purchased a 1996 Estima Emina turbo diesel van direct from Japan.  It didn't come with a manual and I was wondering about the proper oil to put in?  From what I can read it just says 5w40 but is turbo different from gasoline?  I love the van, its amazing.  Just want to make sure things run smoothly.

using same oil for many years since 2006 never had problem oil change lights aver 3000km change at 6000km, last fifteen years on wvo as fuel but must clean as gold 

oil thins with in line combi boiler plate heat exchanger 

i hope its 2.2 diesel not petrol
