Rear and passenger windows will not open or close.

2019 MY Corolla.

Any fuses?

Have you inadvertently pressed the window isolation button on the driver's door switch panel??

This stops the other windows being operated.

Frosty, I have checked that and the notes in the manual pages 221 222.  The switch shows either green light or no light iaw the manual but nothing works.

I tried the jam routine and no dice.  It's booked in for 8.30 tomorrow but I need the car tonight too

Have you looked at page 223 - window lock switch?

Posted

Yes I have.  The lock switch, as I said, has a green light on or off which seems to confirm power to the switches.  That all three windows don't move suggests anti-jam has operated but trying to reset that has failed too.

Are there any fuses to check?

I would guess the switch being illuminated means the window lock function is currently active.

It has in every vehicle I've owned / driven with electric windows.

FA, true, but when light out the windows still don't work.

Had a brain wave.  I tried the door switches.  They all worked so at least I have the windows closed.  The fault is now a simple:

"Driver's door passenger window switches do not operate."

Huh, that's unusual. Wonder what's happened to them? They're usually pretty robust - Mine have even been rained on but still worked!

Maybe time to exercise that warranty!

Aye, tomorrow morning 8 30.

As I could not shut the window and needed the car in a different town for a dental appointment I insisted on a PDQ.

I shall take it in as arranged but accept it is no longer urgent and will allow them to book it in for a later fix.

As I said, just a brain spark.

Quick fix.  The problem was it had lost the up and down limit sense, something to do with the anti-jam protection.

The solution was simply to follow the directions on page 221/222 of the online manual, BUT

As the driver's door switches were not working I think he had to use the passengers switch that was!

Bizarre! Thanks for posting back the fix tho' in case anyone else has this problem!

The anti-jam on my car appears to be designed for kryptonians like superman - I tested it on an empty bottle and it just crushed it!!
