Hi There, just bought a Previa 2003 with 103K on clock. I noticed that in the straight ahead position steering seems really vague and you seem to be constantly correcting it above 20-30mph. Checked fluid in power steering all good. I know some have mentioned that steering is light but would you expect to need constant correction. somebody mentioned bushes - would worn bushes cause this and is it an expensive job?

Thanks

Hi,

This sort of question requires an answer from a mechanic you choose to repair the issue I’m afraid. We have no idea about service charges near you or what the issue might be. Best to get it assessed.

it might be the steering box that is worn, though at the mileage you mention, it does seem strange for a Toyota.

Check your tyre pressures and for uneven wear on your tyres. Also have the steering alignment checked. See what results you get from that.

Agree with all above...get it in a garage and get it  checked out.

103k miles is nothing for of these buses.

What colour is the power steering fluid ? old and/or cheap tires will make the front end very unpredictable in worst case it will feel like driving on snow/ice, if the car come from a dealer it's more than likely had some super cheap Chinese tires put on it
