USB ports - 2022

Hi guys,

Could anyone please clarify the type of USB ports on the 2022 model. 

I’m trying to order a new charger, but from what I’ve read the USB at the front which is used for CarPlay etc. is still a USB A? Is this correct? I thought it was now a USB C all round.

The car industry is 4-6 years behind tech wise, the usb socket is USB A 2.0 max output 500ma

you may have the USB A charge only ports depending on the spec, those are 2.1 amp

USB A is still the main standard, Type C hasn't been widely adopted yet

if you don't have the 2.1 amp ports - go with a quality 12v AUX intelligent charger what can charge at USB C rates (3/5 amp)

That is correct - the MY22 car has USB C charging ports (5V, 3A). Multimedia input remains USB A ...
