Windows Steaming Up

I'm sure someone out there knows if the 02 Avensis has a pollan filter?

I've noticed now the weather has changed, in the rain my windows steam up and the only way to keep them clear is either have the heater on hot or put my air con on fast blower to clear it. It's done 9,000 miles had its first service & due it's second service this Sept. Also how much is the second service i know different dealers charge different prices but their can't be much of a difference, I need to have it service at a dealer because of the warranty.

Cheers

If a car steams up easily inside, it means either a very good thing, or a bad thing.

If it's a good thing, then it's because the car is very well sealed so that any moisture that you sweat/breath out into the air is being held within the air of the car.

If it's a bad thing, then it could be that the A/C drain is blocked and letting moisture into the car.

I can't say that mine steams up that easily unless re-circ is on, check to see if yours is set to recirc or fresh.

If it does steam up, just put your A/C on, it uses less fuel than having the windows open due to less drag and your supposed to have it on often anyway.

Thanks how do you know if the aircon drain valve is blocked and how do you clear it?

Thanks for the quick reply, this site is better than talking to a dealer

Hi John I am also new to this forum, did you ever get to the bottom of this as I also suffer from the windows steaming up. Clears if you put the aircon on.

Did you ever get a reply re drain valve ??

Thanks John

Hi All

My Avensis also steams up the front windscreen during very wet weather BUT I dont have aircon fitted (poverty "S" model), so its unlikely to be that. By the same token is it just my car, or when one uses the windscreen washer jets, if travelling at speed the excess water flies all over the side windows after washing the screen ?

Other trhan that its still a great car

Cheers

Buzlby
