Yaris 2010 MMT stalls

Hey guys,

I've been trying to move my car but have been unable to.
It cranks but the minute I let go of my brakes the car stalls, it feels like the car is in high gear because it tries to move off quickly but stalls.

it's an automatic and also no error codes are being displayed

Also now, when I start the car and move the gear to E while holding down on the brakes, the car would make a noise as if it's trying to change gear.

Has the car been stood for a period of time ??

Nope, I drove it on Saturday and it was fine, it's only today that the issue is happening and now I am getting clutch overheating warning light. Normally in the morning , when I start the car , it would shake like crazy even after warming it up for 5+ minutes. After riding for a bit, it would go back to normal. But today it wouldn't budge.

Put it in 1st in M (Manual) try to give it throttle while holding the brake, does it do it reverse ? The car hasn't been clamped, has it ? (No road tax)

i would say it needs a clutch and a new clutch actuator - it's not a cheap job

no clamp on the car. The clutch warning light stays on now. Trying to find to find a mechanic that can change new clutch and actuator for semi autos

Most places can do them, they choose not to as they can be problematic

A main stealer will want the thick end of £1500-2k replacing the clutch and both the clutch and shifter actuator

good lord that's expensive. Probably worth just selling the car at this point. I'll see what I can find thanks

oh yes the MMT's are fine till they act up, the Mk3 yaris changed over to the CVT Auto from 2012

if you can find a place to do it, expect £5-600 as a minimum, the actuator is £190-300 on its own if at fault
