Hi everyone, new to the forum.

I have a 2006 Aygo Sport that have converted to a race car for my 11yr old son to race at our local dirt track in junior rods. Believe this is the first Aygo to be used in oval track racing.

Currently the car is standard apart from safety modifications. Full six point cage with double door bars, 3mm steel floor plate drivers side. 2 gallon alloy fuel tank. Battery relocated inside car, isolater switch. 5 point harnesses ( I have to sit with him as he learns) .

As time goes by will be changing things that allowed to do ( de cat, ecu flash , immob delete, uprated shocks and springs, poly Bush kit. Sporty back box.

Jobs this week bypass immobiliser and fit switches to remove ignition barrel. ( steering lock already removed) fit 2 high definition brake lights and 60 shore rated autograss tyres.

No doubt will come across issues along the way and members here will be able to assist us.

That's the beginning of a career! And if not, well done for giving your young lad the joy.

Mine started riding motorbikes last year at the age of 5.

Sooner the show interest and learn, better drivers/riders they become. 👍

Thanks for the replies, car will be a lot lighter once he confident enough to race alone as be removing seats in favour off a kirky lightweight one and removing myself which should loose around 120kg to its current weight.
