As in an abrupt stop and no free wheel?

Did the engine stop at the same time?

Just asking questions.

Possibly the turbo has expired if it gave a death rattle?  Need a bit more to go on as other have said.

It could be anything, those codes are so universal, does the engine turn over ? Check the Battery terminals and voltage, do a general visual inspection, is there enough fuel in the tank ?

No not an abrupt the car free wheeled. Yes the engine stopped at the same time. The missus was driving so I can't say alot about what happened prior to the car stopping

Plenty of fuel. The car engine turns over doesn't sound right when it does. Battery is more or less dead now. Nothing just out at me when I looked at it. No sign of anything blowing of or out

doesnt sound right as is in the engine tuns over with no compression (spins freely) ?, cam cover off and check the chain, it may have snapped or the tensioner has failed

To add to Flash

"The car engine turns over doesn't sound right when it does"

Starter turns engine over but engine does not start?

And added:

Sounds expensive and at the mileage probably uneconomical to repair.
