So what's the plan for the tour then?

Couple of hours touring the factory then off to the Bonnie Prince for lunch?

Or all pile round to BD's for lunch instead?

Lin....Bonnie Prince is dire...IMHO.

Sadly, I'm running low on hols and dashing off to work right after the tour.

If you want half decent food then maybe the Lawns in Chellaston? Come off the A50 at the Bonnie Prince and tun left into Chellaston. When you get to the first set of lights (about a mile) hang a right into High St and the Lawns is on the left in 50 yds or so. Should be easy for folks. Good food and easy to find.

I live in Mickleover and couldn't honestly recommend a pub in the village.

BTW what you folks going to call yours? Mine gets refered to as the Enterprise.

Captain Archer's?

Captain Pike's?

Captain Kirk's?

Captain Harriman's?

Captain Garret's

or Captain Picard's?

We'll probably call ours Peefer. We've got a cat called Ceefer so this was the obvious name (short of calling the SatNav Majel)

We're looking forward to coming to this, a handy day off work for Jim!

My dad told me just recently that he lived at Littleover for a while but couldn't remember where, mind you, he is 75 this year.

We're buying this car with money from my mum's estate but I can't see me calling the car Doreen, in her memory, somehow. :D

How are we going to know each other? Look for the Prius'?

You might have to come and find us, as you have a non-prius!

BD has suggested somewhere for lunch, we can shoot off there.

As far as i can can see there are going to be 2 Priei, BD and yours (if you are going for the tour?).

it mihgt be a bit tricky to find a toyota at a toyota factory , but should be ok. mine is easy to spot just look for a white pimp mobile (or something you have never seen b4 :D

as youre the local i'm open for suggestions

i'm going to stay with friends for the night and then go back on the friday. looks like i have to leave at about 4.30 to ensure i'm going to be on time :crybaby:

Well, this is what we look like, if it will help.

Pimpmobile, not heard that for a while, do you get a lot of business in it? :)

We'll try either BD's pub or The Bonnie Prince - we quite like it there, it might be a good day for food there.

We had our test drive yesterday, got to play with all the toys. It's all very exciting and only 24 hours to go. The bluetooth setup seems quite easy to use, but I have mixed feelings about the satnav, especially after using TomTom for so long.

Oh, can't wait.

1 day to go.

I'm glad you like the car, allhough ours is my dads, i'm sure i get my fair share of driving :D

I take it you got the T-spirit then having the bluetooth, we just got the T4, as the only thing my dad was interested in was cruise.

are you confirmed for the factory tour? if so i will see you then, there are only 20 people there any way.

what is TomTom, is it another satnav system?

foodwise i'm open for suggestions, as long as its good and not too expensive (gotta pay for petrol as well @ 33mpg:( )

pimpmobile is what one of my parents friends called the car first time she saw it LOL .

see you

Don't know why I'm bothering to post this because you'll be out playing in the Prius. I know I was when I first got it!

Or have Inchcape still got their grubby hands on it?

anyway......

CONGRATULATIONS

Jim here, Lyn's at her mates watching girly type films and drinking wine. I am staying sober and going to collect her at 00:01 :D

The car is not just great, it's awesome, oh and if you've not had the door protector strips on yours, I can recommend them, they really are a nice finishing touch.

Lyn has some piccies on the laptop, anyone want to see?

(oh and thank you)

Does anyone know how to disconnect the reversing beeper, it drowns out the parking sensors!!

How much did they sting you for the door protectors please? Thought about getting some but never really got round to it. Are they black?

Hello and thanks for the congrats, we're still grinning like idiots. It looks so lovely out on the drive.

We're taking it on a bit of a run back home to Bolton to see how it handles the Thelwall crawl on the M6. Oh for the joys of electric air-con.

The side bumpers alone, in the matt black that they come in, were just under £100 fitted, which at the time I thought wasn't too bad.

It was nice to just hand over my Delta card for them to swipe for just under £20k.

The car is covered in dew making it matt black, another good colour option.

Oh well, back to playing with it.

Oh yes, still smiling!!

I had a senior moment this afternoon driving back, when I couldn't remember how to go from "b" and park to drive. I've had an automatic for years and my mind went blank. Add to that some dipstick woman in the car behind pipping me to move. Rude gestures were exchanged and eventually I got it going, but apart from that, yes. It's wonderful.

I find it makes me very tired though, concentrating on all that's going on, so I'm away to bed to catch up on the sleep I lost with all the excitement.

Catch you later.

At least you didn't press Park at 30mph like I did!

Good job it's idiot proof

You'll get used to it. You'll probably find that the mpg is not brilliant to start with...but as time goes on you learn to drive to it's strenghts and the mpg goes up.

Shame there's two black Prius in the Derby area now....getting a bit common :D

We are averaging 50 mpg, around half a tank gone over 200 miles, so it's about what I expected for a new car.

We are over to Lincoln hopefully this weekend, so another bit of a run over mixed roads to see what it's like.

It makes me very nervous though, and I used to drive for a living, go figure.

All systems go at our end as the insurance documents turned up at the dealers (thanks royal mail), now just 150 miles to go tomorrow.

braindead have you tried to press the on/off button at speed. apperently it causes the car to slam all anchors on. there is a yahoo group for priuei as well.

Look, when I picked the name BrainDead it was supposed to be ironic!! :D

However, when I come up the drive at night and press the Start/Stop button it sometimes doesn't work first push. I'd assumed it was because I was not at a standstill.

Don't feel inclined to experiment further.

We have our first star for the side of the car. Jim drove it in to work today and his pal was waiting to see it. Jim managed to get right up behind him and pip the horn, scaring the life out of him.

Pedestrians 0

Also, he found out that you can't drive off with the door open. Funny that you can drive off with the seat belt undone.

Isn't stealth mode great?

BTW, when you go to a Prius (or any other meet) protocol dictates you have to arrive in stealth mode. Bad form to arrive with the engine running

I'm going to get stickers made up - little pedestrians.

We will endeavour to arrive under impulse power, Captain Sir!

Rickers - have a nice, safe drive!
