Rough Idle after O2 sensor change

Hi guys

Changed the o2 sensor on my 2005 petrol Rav4 and now the car idles horribly and actually turned off af one point.

I read up that the ECU needs resetting. Is there a procedure I can follow or is a specialised diagnostic tool required?

Disconnect the Battery for 30 minutes should be enough for the reset.

This will probably give you poor economy until the ECU has clocked up enough miles for it's initial setup.

I had the Battery disconnected when I was doing the swap but you're right, it is getting better but still a little rough at times. I'm guessing it needs time to re learn all the configurations.

I'm not sure how long it took, but it was roughly about 500 miles
