Back Glass (windshield) For Rear Of First Body Sty

I need to replace the rubber gasket on the rear window of a 1975 notch back coupe. Have been told by the glass shop that they cannot guaranty that the back glass will not self destruct while being reinstalled. I was able to purchase a new front windshield for the car so an not worried about the front, but if the back glass brakes then the car will be junk, as the local central Texas Toyota recycler just crushed all of the 70's Celica's she had.
