Road Hero space saver

I purchased the Road Hero space saver kit and could anyone clarify the purpose of the plastic ring included in the kit ?

I could contact the supplier, but I thought one of you guys would know 👍

Not sure what plastic ring you are referring too?

Yes I asked the same question to the supplier: it fits on the inside of the spare wheel hub and is to help in guiding the spare onto the wheel studs....that's what they told me. 

Ernie....you won't see it unless it comes loose from the inside of the spare wheel which is how I found it.

It's actually a spigot ring (spacer) specifically for the RAV4

Maybe the centre bore on the Road Hero is slightly larger than the Toyota one (60.1mm) and the spigot ring helps centre the wheel on the hub.

Thanks Colin, never seen these before in all my years of motoring.

I would have thought that the hub studs and wheel nuts would have pulled the wheel on correctly.

The space saver must be different ? I'll need to have a trial fit 👍

Iain, the Road Hero spacesaver must be used for multiple vehicles with slightly varying hub diameters hence the use of a spigot ring specific for the RAV 4. 

I believe that they are commonly used in the aftermarket alloy wheels market.
