I too am glad I took the 2023 2.0 GR Sport. I'll probably look at a Lexus next time round.. I'll be keeping my current C-HR for at least the next 2 years.

Yes, that is true about Lexus price.

We were originally happy to order it blind, but will now wait to see it in the metal before any decisions are made as we still feel it’s the Premier or nothing. I currently have HUD and would REALLY miss it.

It will be interesting to see what options are offered, maybe add HUD to the Excel?….

If you want a 2.0 it’s GR or Premiere edition , having driven a current gen Corolla 1.8 and 2.0 back to back the 1.8 feels it’s working hard a lot of the time, the 2.0 is much more relaxed.  I’d expect the 2.0 PHEV to be even more relaxed to drive. Dealer will take a refundable/changeable deposit on a car now. Once full specs are out we will place an order. I’d expect the GR with metallic paint and a pan roof to be the same if not more expensive than the premiere. 🤔 and the CEO only talks about the Premiere 😂😂😂

Oh WOW, that’s a real shock, nearly £43k for the Premier!!!!

Looks like I will be waiting for the next UX at that price.

I dread to think how much the PHEV will be!

Yes slightly disappointing but expected that seeing how futuristic this car is and how Toyota is moving more upmarket with materials and fitted options (example the refresh Yaris is getting a HUD on higher trims ), hopefully there will be a PHEV spec under £40,000 but Toyota GB typically only sell PHEV models in mid/high spec so more likely than not it will sell over the threshold.

Its slightly farcical that the C-HR PHEV with 40 miles pure electric range and super low CO2 emissions under hybrid drive gets hit with almost £2000 extra luxury car taxes but a 1000bhp electric car with colbalt sourced unethically does not currently pay the luxury car tax as evs are exempt.

regarding the UX,  like I just mentioned Toyota going more upmarket and increasing prices also helps upsell to push buyers to cross shop with Lexus as the prices are getting close for comparable models.

Wow pleased now I stuck with the 2023 GR some £6000 cheaper and a decent PCP deal. Hope the prices become more reasonable in 30 months when I look to change.

Yes , even worse as the GR is just over the luxury car freehold by £645 so hit with almost £2000 extra road tax(VED), i am surprised Toyota GB didn't take a hit in margins and cut the OTR by £645 because the potential number of lost customers for that model will outweigh the faction of a percent margin loss. I guess Toyota GB are confident 20 inch wheels and GR sport styling will draw customers to that model regardless of external tax penalties..

A more logical solution is for the UK government to increase the £40,000 luxury car tax threshold (been the same since 2017) in line with soaring inflation but that's a new conversation entirely

Just back from the local dealership and we’ve put a deposit down for a Premiere Edition with the sales guy knowing full well we may decide to change to an Excel or GR PHEV once full pricing and specs are available. Apparently someone had already put a deposit down before us.  Other than the increase in price  I see the new CHR being just as popular as the old model 👍

Nice to see things in writing officially now.

I will be interested to see if the roofline is different from the drivers seat as I find I bump my head on the top of the door frame on the current one sometimes even with the seat on it’s lowest setting.

I was originally thinking of the Premier, but still not convinced about the black back end. The Excel has everything I need, but I will really miss the HUD I currently have, but good to see it’s an option….. but how much I wonder?

It’s going to have to feel pretty special to prise me out of my Prius 😆

New CH-R on Toyota website today. Offers 4.9% + £600 dealer contribution seems like a good start.

Still no prices for PHEV though.

PHEV doesn't launch until early 2024 so prices will follow later this year

At last things are moving, looks as though the 2.0 HEV and PHEV gets the black rear treatment, probably as a way of distinguishing the two. Hope they get the PHEV prices out soon. 🤔

Has anyone else put a deposit down yet?  Still awaiting PHEV pricing before we’re 100% but at the moment the PE has everything on it and leather seats which the CEO appears intent on having 😂

Not sure I will be putting that much of money. Model 3 is just out for less than 40K - this is what I will be going for this time.

Having read  the info available multiple times I can’t see any mention of heated steering wheel on higher spec models but this cabin shot looks to have a button that may be for a heated steering wheel. 🤔

Looks great other than the all black alloys which IMO do nothing  for any car ☹️ Can’t wait to see the car in the flesh , hopefully before Xmas 🤞

I'm also waiting tosee on "in the flesh" so to speak. I spoke to my local dealer last week, and they are expecting one in soon. Unfortunately they couldn't (or possibly wouldn't) give me an exact date. I'll be there again in December when the Good Lady's Yaris goes in for a service.

I might be lucky and get to see a real one !!

Best info I have is that cars have been in build for a few weeks prior to the official announcement, presumably all being showroom and demo cars 🤔.  AFAIK every dealer is getting a showroom Premiere Edition , GR Sport and a 1.8 demonstrator, most likely an Excel. Dealer training starts this month , so with a bit of luck anyone who wants to see one should be able to do so at their local dealership. 👍

Looks like a copy and paste review from a Corolla, easy money. Maybe he didn't get the Ibiza Freebie like;

but then maybe he'll do similar. All these reviews, print and video are so predicable. Best to see it in the flesh.

My local dealer have their showroom GR Sport now and we’re booked in to have a look on Monday 😎 sadly no test drive available as it’s for display ,  but at least we will get a good look at it  and get a feel for the interior.  Premiere Edition should be arriving soon 👍 Looks like the production line may have  started 8/10 weeks ago 🤔
