Looking at the new model, it confirms our first thoughts, it does not appeal.

I'm still in two minds. I would like to see one "in the flesh" so to speak. To me it looks like any othe generic SUV.

But, in saying that, when I saw the current C-HR, I said to my wife that although I liked the looks of it, it wasn't a car I would ever buy.

I am now on my second one, as I absolutely love them. 😀. I still want to see an actual new shape C-HR before I commit either way

Would be interesting to one with just a black roof similar to current C-HR🤔

I would much prefer a single colour option.

The Excel, which is the model I would be interested in only comes in the duo-tone paint.  I have had black cars in the past and I know how difficult they are to maintain and keep looking pristine, so that would probably stop me purchasing it.

Black chr will be nice. But silver and black could do it for me.
My biggest issue is still the rear doors windows, much better but not good enough imo. I would prefer to be frameless like some sport cars and larger windows. And a white or light grey roof lining will be fine to give extra brightness to the otherwise dark interior, but a glass roof can help.
All in all I think this is best new Toyota that can replace the Prius gen5 that we don’t get here, I always look at chr like a lifted up Prius.

Nothing new here but some nice slow shots of the interior where it’s moved on massively from the current generation

I spent a good portion of the afternoon watching reviews of the new C-HR. I do quite like the interior, but am still not hooked on the new exterior design. I still want to se an actual car. So far, I am happy I managed to get one of the last of the old shape C-HR.

Financial incentives on the outgoing C-HR , will be interesting to see what , if anything is on offer for the new gen? Ford still have 0% 26 months available and other incentives 🤔

I wonder who dreamt this up 🤔 looks like market research says festival goers are a key demographic for the all new C-HR 🤔 I want to see one in the flesh but going to a festival to do that ain’t going to work for me 🤷‍♂️

I wonder if there will be a 2024 U.K. only Glastonbury Edition 🤔😂😂😂

I bought my 2021 C-HR 1.8 Dynamic (my first Toyota) in April this year.  After 20+ years with VW’s, I have to say that  by comparison it is certainly “Jazzy” All my VW’s were conventional diesel ICE, and this hybrid is a new, pleasurable experience to drive.  I have become used to the bolder style of the C-HR, and quite like it.

However, from what I have seen pictorially of the all-new C-HR, I think it is ugly and would never consider buying one. Additionally, I feel that the “control over the driver” facilities have gone further than I could accept - why pay for extras that one would be unlikely to use?

If I decide to stay with Toyota (and I cannot think of any reason not to), then they do produce quite a range of models, a number of which I think would suit me.

Here in Finland I heard a dealer say they get the HEV variant test drive car by the end of the year

Who’s hoping Toyota publish pricing and specifications before the Bank Holiday and open the order books 🤔 , weather will be rubbish (it is a Bank Holiday) a few beers and a confirmed spec list will sort my weekend 👍😎

Most definitely. I would still like to see, and perhaps drive, a real one before I commit though

I went and saw the LBX at Goodwood today and it’s a no for me.

Lovely looking, but it felt very tight inside and extremely tight in the rear, but the boot was better than I expected. It was a preproduction left hand drive car so quality was not up to normal Lexus standards.

Looking forward to seeing the C-HR now.

So with nothing to do but wait for pricing and order books to open ☹️ what do folk think prices will be🤔

I’m hoping 🙏 that the Premiere Edition will be £39,999 as I don’t fancy paying an extra £2k over 5 years just because it’s over £40k

I doubt the PHEV will be under £40k for a GR Sport or Excel version 🤷‍♂️

What do you think🤔🤔🤔

I have just read (MotorBiscuit) that Toyota Japan are dropping the C-HR in favour of the new Corolla Cross. Does anybody know if this is a worldwide exclusion or just certain markets🤔

Possibly only in certain markets. As far as I am aware, the Corolla Cross is not going to be available in the UK

Well, the date on that article is June 2, 2021. It was written for the US market where the C-HR wasn't selling particularly well, and a "more compact RAV4" might make more sense. They also hint at the arrival of a hybrid Corolla Cross ... 😉

Meanwhile, Toyota have spent tons on the announcement of the new C-HR, officially stated that the Corolla Cross is NOT coming to the UK, and stricken the Corolla Cross from the UK Media Site completely. I think that we get the message ...

Which is a shame since I still want a Corolla Cross, AWD, PHEV in Excel grade or equivalent and I'm very unlikely to get one. 🙂

I find the Corolla Cross a little weird. It's sold here and I've seen exactly one. It's not a small car and it's not a cheap car. The difference to RAV seems too small. I cant imagine why would I take Corolla Cross over the RAV4.

That said, my dealer said that availability right now is nonexistant so people are waiting for a year for their Corolla Cross, so I suppose some have been sold. I think CHR and Yaris Cross fill a clear niche, but the Corolla Cross is just like "RAV but not RAV but almost like RAV but still not quite RAV"

The Corolla Cross Hybrid is here in Europe which has the bonus of being built in Japan.  5 models ranging from €30-42k with 4x4 available in all models.

So I wonder if the C-HR will be phased out in Europe🤔

When buying a pre-owned vehicle, one is always faced with compromises , because one is getting what the first owner chose.  Generally, I think I fared well with my 2021 C-HR, although I have since realised that cabin stowage is very spubik.  If/when I decide on another change, it will still be a hybrid (I got that right), but it would be very unlikely that I would go for another C-HR.  I did check out the RAV 4, but I was not happy with the driving position or the slab of a bonnet in front of me.  It is a shame that the features not liked are fundamentally simple, because the car is a delight to drive, and manoeuvrability -for me - cannot be faulted.

This is another article from MotorBiscuit (21/08/23 for the cynics)  and it appears to be the US market but it does give a great testament to the C-HR.
