Air con re-gas

Hi all. My father in law has a 64 plate 2.0L diesel avensis. He needs to get the air conditioning re gassed but he has been given different prices and even told he needs the more expensive gas. 
where can I find out the correct gas he needs for his specific car.

2014/15 was around the time the more expensive gas began to be used in new cars. For example our previous i20 (2015) had the more expensive gas (1234yf).

Should be a label in the engine bay possibly on the pipework or on the underside of the bonnet, saying which gas the car needs.
