Drivers Electric Window Glass

The other day when it was really "muggy" warm, I pulled the button for the one stop return of the window glass, and when it got to the top it came staright back down immediately and would not stay up. Each time I did the one touch it would go to the top and immediately come back down.The only way to get the glass up was to inch it up bit by bit with the switch. ( A quirk of the hot weather I wonder)??It hasn't done it since. I only have 2.5 months left on the manufacturers warranty and wondered if I should get in touch with Toyota. The problem is that I cannot re-create it at this moment as it works OK.

Also, I have noticed that when I test the safety cut out, (when an object gets stuck on its way up) by pulling against it, it doesn't always stop. Could this be linked?

When I bought the car I noticed that the glass in the drivers window has been replaced and wonderd if the mechanism could be damaged.

the one touch device is all in the switch, relays and stuff , complain to toyota who might change the switch for you .

The window needs resetting dude........pull the switch up on the manual setting (halfway) and hold for 30 secs.......try it, if this fails you need the garage to remove the motor from the regulator to re set

I've just found this site and I have a D4D SR on 02 plate and it has always done exactly the same thing as yours on the drivers side window. Every time it goes in for a service I report this fault and they always say they've fixed it. It only seems to happen when the car is moving, and its always OK until a couple of days later. I've only got 9 mths left on the warranty, so need to get it sorted. Least I know, that its not just me.
