No offense or anything, but doesn't anybody on this board know anything? The only answer I ever get to any question about the AE111 is "ask Fensport". The only answer I can EVER get out of them is "we don't have any". AHHH!! As you can see this is a little frustrating.

I'm fairly sure it's the C160. Could be wrong, but that doesn't happen often. :D  (please don't kill me if I'm wrong)

jeeze man, calm it down a notch.

most of the people who ask questions dont check before they ask. i told you to check for yourself, and you fired a **** cannon ball at me.

and who im **** with? whats that ment to mean? you gonna come all the way over to nz and bash me dude? wtf?

sorry, i was assuming you were being a new member and asking a question that could be easily answered (which is proven correct thanks to the board), but you didnt indicate that you had researeched what so ever.

then someone mentioned fensport, and you said *WHY DOES EVERYONE SAY THAT* or something along those lines? i mean really man... if you dont like what you get... dont nark on everyone eh?

No dude, you have me all wrong. It is just really a pain in the ***** when I can't get any new information for such a long time. and it is really hard to belive that nobody knows anything about this transmission... I have so many times asked questions on this and other boards and haven't gotten much further in my search. sorry to take it out on you, but after all I've tried to do to see somebody say "do some research"...it was like a slap in the face.

Things I still would like to know.

1. Internally gated or not?

2. Gear ratio's

3. Cable shifted? If so, length of cables.

4. Length of throw

5. Part #' if possible

maybe somebody knows somebody that works at a Toyota dealership outside of the U.S. that would have access to info...

2. Gear ratios... now... i cant tell you off hand, they should be around... hm... i might have a look, see if i can find em.

3. most boxes from toyota that ive worked on, seem to be *otherwise* controlled... ie - no direct connection to the box, be it cable, linkage, any other way you can see fit

4. meh, does it matter? A) hack the shifter, B) get a trd short shift kit, C) do both

5. Couldnt tell you... ae111 is all i can tell you ^_^ search for Bz-r :P

Ever thought of ringing up a Toyota dealer and asking them your desired questions?? Or and if they cant help them ask for a technical contact and in your case would be found at the Toyota HQ in the US.

Doesnt matter what country your in if the local Dealer has a technical issue they will always communicate with a technical department at the Toyota HQ

Because my car was of a very limited production I contacted Toyota GB who could only help me so far but then they put me intouch via e mail to the Toyota Group in Japan who more then helpfull.

Is it me people are getting too personal on the forum when they dont get an answer they desire???

Whats the matter with people these days they want eveything given to them on a plate without putting any effort in them selves.

Peace! :group-cuddles:

 I've noticed that too.

I didn't get an answer about my alarm but I'm not gonna go off on one, because I'd like to keep all avenues of info open.

I work for Toyota. They haven't told me jack ****. Thats why I come to different forums with people who have different ideas. I'm not asking for a silver platter. I'm asking for any info possible, seeing as all my other attempts at getting info have failed. I've put in a lot of effort. All I ask for in return is a little respect. I'm not here asking this question before I've gone anywhere else. This is my last resort, but obviously you don't have any quality information to add other than "ask sombody else".

I got the C160 gear ratios, which should be about the same as the C161 and C162, except for final drive. I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it could help. The C160 is the one hooked to the 4A-GE blacktop in the AE111 models.

Ratios:

1- 3.166

2- 2.050

3- 1.481

4- 1.166

5- 0.916

6- 0.725

R- 3.250

Final Drive: 4.529

Sorry I can't help more!

BTW, no AE111 came with a 7A-FE. That would be an AE112.:thumbsup:

I haven't looked for it yet, but there are a lot of traders here in Cyrpus who import directly from Japan market a lot of second hand engines, gearbox and other spare parts. The cost of a 4A-GE 20V without the ECU is 650 Euros. All engines and geaboxes are comming from wreck cars with low millage.

If the swap is easy bussines then I will think about it. For the moment is fun to drive with A/T usesing the power button.
