Key fob locking

Hi I have a 2011 Avensis, I have replaced the Battery in both key fobs for the car and they both worked fine for a day. Neither of them will now open the doors upon pressing the unlock buttons the red light shows and the indicator will flash but the doors won't unlock.

I have to use the key to unlock the car but the rear doors won't open and the toggle switch on the driver's door won't operate.

The following day the key fob has worked and unlocked and locked the car and the toggle switch works.

It has then stopped working again. Do I need an auto electrian

I have had issues with cheap eBay batteries, best to stick to fairly fresh Energizers from the local Asda or Tesco. So can you rule out that type of problem?

I'm Thanks Paul9.

I got them from Screwfix and the make was Varta may try Duracell and see if they work. Worth a go for a couple of pounds

The ones I had problems with were Eunicell from eBay sellers, and Lidl and Morrison own brands. Those last two were very old stock which I had kept laying around for far too long.
