i was taking my air filter box off earlier to put a K and N type cone filter on my 1.8 ST. When i came accross a cable so i looked in the Haynes manual to find out what it is, its a air bag sensor or something. can i just i#unclip this and leave it hanging in the engine bay?

i have reclipped it back in and am hopeing its not gonna go off.

it certaintly wont go off as it needs the excess of a crash to even tempt it , i test em for a living.and are subjected to quite a few g's, . the sensor box itself contains all the needed and it sits behind the dash so dont worry.
