What actual MPG does this car probably will probably achieve and what drive mode is recommended for efficiency?

Sorry for the newbie question

I average 50 mpg in mine. Excel model with 17 inch tyres. I keep it in Eco mode most of the time although some people find that too sluggish. It helps if you have a relaxed driving style.

It depends on what kind of driving you do. For me, the sweet spot seems to be where roads I’m doing 40-50 mph. I can easily get over 60 mpg on those.

I'm averaging 52mpg over the last two and a half years. 45mpg in winter, 56mpg in summer. Excel on 17" non-eco tyres.

I don't find much difference at the pump between eco and normal, it mainly just changes the throttle mapping. 90% of the time it stays in normal. I tend to use Eco on long journeys as it reduces the aircon and gets you a couple of extra mpg.

Average (confirmed at the pumps) is 62mpg.  Best is 71mpg during this warm summer.

  • 1 month later...

Daily commute into Nottingham, real world driving I get 55-65mpg regularly.

I get more with external temperature around 20-21C and light traffic.

The MPG really depends on how we drive. Normally flow with traffict and normal drivers, we get about 4.5 L/100 km city or state roads and 5L/100km 56 mpg(imperial) motorway at 120km/h sped. I just came back from summer trips to Alps in France and Switzerland for 1500 km and 4.8L/km or 59 mpg average. Cruise speed is at 120 kph/70 mph and I drive on the mountains at moderate speed not at the speed limit but go down at slightly higher than speed limit with D mode all the time because not so much long steep slopes.

If I do hypermiling pulse and glide or cruise behind bus or truck, 3.5 L/100 km, 80mpg is possible.
