Toyota Auris 2016 Business Hybrid CVT Edition

My mum has a hybrid auris 2016 version, I've seen on youtube people using carplay on their touch 2 system but before I spend money on any adapters I want to know if there is a way to check if my mum's head unit has carplay available or if there is any way to unlock it

Android Auto/Apple Carplay isn't available as standard or as an unlocked feature on any of the Auris Touch 2 multimedia units.

Is it possible to get a aftermarket unit that looks OEM but with carplay available, I'm not a big fan of aftermarket units that look obviously nothing like the OEM units

There are plenty of retailers and auto electricians that could do that for you, even Halfords, have a word with one of those companies and get them to show you what is available, keep clear of any unknown cheap Chinese brands, they are carp

There some Romanian guys that offer convention kit from Corolla 2019 , and likely to have these extras plus it’s an oem unit, used one but comes with facia and connectors, all in kit. It’s somewhere in Auris forum from few months back. 👍
