Is it possible to use a 2013 Yaris Hybrid automatic keyless on a dolly trailer behind a motorhome

Just wondering if it is at all possible to tow a 2013 Yaris automatic hybrid with a keyless start with the front wheels in a dolly trailer with the rear wheels on the ground behind a motorhome, is there any reason why the rear wheels would not just free wheel with the handbrake off or is this an impossibility? Many thanks

Good question!

I think it should be fine with the back wheels on the ground.

I'm sure you're aware that, like other automatic cars, there is a transmission brake (which will act of the front wheels) as well as the normal parking brake (handbrake) acting on the rear wheels.

So with the car parked up and the handbrake off, the car can't be moved more than a couple of centimetres maximum, because the transmission brake will still be on.  That transmission brake will only come off when the car is out of 'P'.

Let's sit back for other info to roll up...

No problem on a dolly, if you have keyless entry as well as start i would disable it on the touch screen (buttons on the fob to lock/unlock and place the fob near the button to start
