Verso 04 D4D Airbag recall?

Hi all,

I keep getting letters about the Airbag recall (think the sensor can short out leading to airbag deployment), Is it worth having this changed? Does it require much labour: where is the offending part? car mileage is 140k

Why wouldn't you get it done? It's a free safety recall, the sensor fits inside the cabin, you will be done in an hour

its a free recall, if you cant get it done by a dealer the AA will come out and do it (must be on a driveway or on private land)

Hi again,

i had the recall done by a toyota dealer in September, but today the car wont open on the central locking button? i can get in on the key but there is a funny relay like clicking noise in the passenger footwell area?....when i insert the immobilizer fob nothing happens. the Battery in the fob is fine as was changed less than a year ago.  I have a feeling that the dealer has messed something up when doing the recall hence why i never got it changed before and my worse fears have come to pass. Car is now stranded away from home until i get a solution. what a nightmare

Sounds just like the cars Battery is flat, hence the central locking is not working, the clicking noise from the front left sounds like the starter solenoid trying to engage the starter motor which it can't as the Battery is flat.

ok thanks, just to clarify would this noise happen though if all ive done is open the drivers door with the key? the noise is the first thing i noticed when sitting the car before inserting the fob anywhere

so just went and tried to jump it off my 1.8 petrol and it wouldnt have it probably not enough capacity? i was blocking the exit of a car park so could not hang about but did check the versos Battery with a meter before leaving and it was showing 13v?
