Apps on Entertainment System (2022 Corolla)

Hi,

On my entertainment system (the new one with Wireless CarPlay) there is an option on sources for audio for “Apps” but it is greyed out. I’m assuming this is for functionality for downloading apps such as Spotify directly on to the system.

Is this something for the future not yet enabled? As I can’t seem to find anyway of making use of this. All I can see is the web browser…which I’m not really sure has much of a purpose!

I very much doubt Toyota will allow a user to stream music via the DCM. 

If you want to use Spotify to stream music via the infotainment system then use your phone's data connection with Android Auto or Apple Carplay.

Hi thanks for the reply.

Spotify was just the example I gave to help explain the point. The question was more about the functionality generally. In addition to apps it also mentions radio over IP.

Radio over IP is automatic in my 22 Corolla. If the radio station you are listening to looses signal if available it finds the streamed version of the radio station. IF you are away from your home area it will continue to stream the same station if you stay tuned to it.

However, I've not found a way to search a radio station on the IP service, it will only find what you are already listening to.

Good to know thank you. Found no reference to this in the user guide.
