naff key?

I pride myself for being careful and looking after things so was surprised to see a chip on my key fob. It's the 2 button one, anyone else find them a bit fragile? It is always kept in a Faraday pouch when not being used. I see there is a rather expensive, although not as expensive as a replacement fob, official after market cover for the fob. Has anyone got one and if so, are they any good?

I'm getting my key tomorrow 😄 I will pay attention to it as I have that quirky thing where I want the key to be perfect, always (I think this is equal to the guy going crazy because the Corolla doesn't have an engine cover).

I purchased one of these a few months ago and it is wearing well, much cheaper than a similar one on Amazon.

My only criticism is that the lock / unlock symbols are not as clear as in the picture but there are on two buttons so you get into the habit of finding the right one.  Other wise it is very sturdy and well made.   There are a couple of silicone ones on eBay as well and I had some similar for my Honda key for a few years and they also did the job of protecting the key.

Didn't actually fit properly so I had to modify it slightly for the LED to show tho'.

Glad I did as it's already covered in gouges from my other keys which would have taken a chunk out of the key case!

It's nice as it has a cut-out for the key release so you don't have to remove the whole thing if you need to use the physical locks. Getting it on and off is a bit of a faff so that's a welcome feature!
