Morrisons is down to 135.7p today, from 137.7p Am I being cynical, or is the recent price drop we're seeing in different parts of the country not just about crude oil prices, but also related to the impending fuel duty rise of a possible 10p?🤔

Bonkers it is, day trips in the summer always ends up with a fuel tank top up because it is always more cheaper the further away from the local area 🤷 that much difference that wished lived in the place being visited 😆

Its around 132.9 near me, though with the situation in the middle east escalating I suppose it will be a great excuse for them to make it sky rocket back up!

Still 127.9 here when I filled up today. Now I'm waiting for the budget speech. We'll probably end up paying 227.9 per litre then 😁

Abridge Shell is 129.9 too! They moved the sausage rolls though so it took me a while to find them...

They also have beef monster munch back in stock!

Prepare yourselves for possible higher fuel costs.

Quote

Oil prices surged after Iran fired ballistic missiles against Israel sparking fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East that could disrupt oil supplies.

Brent crude - a key benchmark for oil prices internationally - rose more than 1% to $74.40 a barrel.

During trading on Tuesday, it jumped more than 5%.

Using petrol company mathematics,, if the trading price of a barrel of oil rises to 5%, and fuel duty goes up by 2%, then the price of fuel at the pump should be increased by at least 30% 😁

When I drove past my usual place last Friday, it was still €1.719, (which is £1.44p near enough). We went to Enniskillen in the North on Saturday and I filled up at a Maxol station, (E10), for £1.299p/litre, which, doing a reverse calculation, works out at about €1.55c per litre!
