EV Light issue

I have a 2019 Yaris Hybrid which recently stopped displaying the EV light on the dash.

Energy monitor shows 2-3-4 panels lit and the ECO mode is set to on.

Is this a reset via the computer please?

What EV light? The one that shows when the car is only running on the electric motor, or the one that shows when you press the EV-mode button?

The EV light just above the ready light on the dash.  ECO mode is active and the car has recently done over 400 miles but the EV light is not coming on

Assuming we're talking about the same thing, that indicator will just turn on and off as you're driving - When it's using the engine, it turns off, when it cuts the engine and switches to the electric motor, it turns on. It  basically just shows if then engine is running or not.

Yes.  It normally does.  But suddenly stopped lighting up.

On my corolla that light can be turned off permanently in the menu settings don’t know if it’s the same on the Yaris check to see if it’s been turned off by accident can’t remember how to get to it in the settings though. Also I might be thinking that it might be the ev light that comes on when you push the ev button

Look in the dash, menu it gives you the option to turn it off, if the car is in ready mode stopped does the EV light come on when you press the EV button by the handbrake ?

never mind..........................

I have the same problem with my Yaris 3 2014. EV indicator stopped lighting. Toyota service is deeply surprised because "it never happens".

Weird, maybe the light somehow burned out? Or do they think it's a software problem?

I'd be curious to know what the found!

I believe the LED just has burned out. It CAN happen though it is a rare issue.

Does it light up when you turn the car on, or if you press the ev button, a simple cluster check with Techstream or a mid tier scan tool will tell you if the dash is ok

If in doubt, Disconnect the 12v Battery for 15 to 20 mins

It can also be a sign of a weak Battery, if it's on its original Battery it's towards the end of its life, an AGM battery lasts 8-10 years, tho covid lockdown did kill plenty

My 2018 definitely has a menu option to disable the EV indicator above the Ready light. I remember contemplating it when I got the car and deciding to leave it enabled but I don't recall where it was set.

Have to RTM.

The handbook instructions are for those with the monochrome display (pre 2017 and post 2017 Active spec). The display change button is below the fuel guage. For those with the post 2017 colour display, the option is in the settings menu (accessed via steering wheel buttons).
