before facelift corolla in uk are made in uk :fear: :D the facelift corolla are made in japan

after this finding i will now agree the facelift must be a better build corolla (if is made in japan),but they ARE still the same car so no need to change cts for the facelift cts, unless you are having some serious problem with it.

Final note: the pre-facelift corolla could of been a prefect car,but when toyota decided to let Dagenham Ford build there car,the result is not going to be as good as expected to be :D

maybe so Sly Si,but i personaly really dont have anytime for the facelift corolla.

IF i were to change car right now it wont be a corolla again, maybe a nissan 350z they are dirt cheap ,seen a few around 1 year old going for 18k, then again i dont own a petrol station,so the corolla will be staying for few more years.

now lets forget the facelift and look forward to the tte supercharger which is design for OUR cts :P :) :D

what spec was it chris?

I Pdi'd a T-spirit on tuesday and it was made in japan.

I know a fair few pre-facelift corollas were built in japan. maybe it was to do with the dash area around the head unit (u know what im talking about  , i hated changing the entire dash for that problem! )

Some are made in Japan, others in Britain, all T-Sport models are made in Japan.

Its just like the Yarism half built in France, other half in Japan.

Yeh they are, mainly because people like them until they start coming apart, a bit like the new Micra, people who buy them love them until everything goes wrong and comes apart - you can thank Renault for that, check out on autotrader how many new Micras/Primera's etc are for sale all less than a year old - people are not impressed.

I wonder if the 3.5V6 that reviewers of the 350Z that say the engine doesnt sound very good is the same 3.5V6 in the Renault Vel Satis?

BTW - As regards UK and Japan, if you ever get the choice go for the Jap built ones, although it could be worse, every new Corolla Verso I have seen says made in Turkey on it :(

Sly Si dont worry facelift cts or not facelift cts we still love ya :D

Chris Barnes if i were you i would go to your dealer ASAP and change for a japan built corolla if is not too late

hehehe :D jamesholden you are right any car drop 10k in there first year cant be a good sign, just think in 2 years time when the 350z are 3 years old it will only worth about 7-9k :P :D

i think this is why the name toyota is rank number 1 in japan and the name nissan is rank number 4 :P

The only jap spec 2004 rolla i pdi'd was a T sport altho we have had a britsh one of them.....I have a 2003 T2 and its really ****** me off with rattles and stuff.....I've had 2 new alt tensioners, new top crash pad and tomorrow i hope to fit my new passenger seat base....it doesnt rattle with my fat missus in!!!

On the plus side altho its only 1400cc i have messed a little....its dropped on TTE springs, i've removed the rub trims , colour coded the mirror covers, have a TTE twin pipe back box with de cat pipe and hopefully soon I'll paint and fit my front splitter!!

thinking of changing from 02 CTS to 04 also ... but went for another test drive again in the Honda Type R - ok - no waitin to 6200 rpm but you know something? - i missed the kick in and the engine noise !! honest - the honda engine was just screaching! going for CTS04 test drive this week -

my uk car was 15500 plus extra for leather and the guys at honda were offering me 8500 for it. Has anyone else noticed this extreme depreciation. altho they did admit if i sold it private i would maybe get 10500. Hoping that the Toyota guys will do a better deal.

does anyone know about the new trim in the 05CTS if i go for leather will it be coloured or plain?

i thank you

I checked out with my local dealer who told me that the new HB Corolla are made in UK.

Would have been grate knowing that my rolla is purely Jap designed and bred :crybaby:

£8500 for a 2002 CTS with leather seat too :D whats the mileage on your car ?

if your CTS have average mileage then you should get around 10k for part ex with the facelift CTS

firstly it is normal for honda to give you a crap price on your car because is a japaness car and is not called a honda

secondly Honda are in truoble there cars not selling well in uk,if you look around they dont have much dealers in uk as they did few years back,so most honda dealer properly dont want your car doesn't matter what made it is the only way for honda dealer to take your car is to give you a ridiculous price then they know they can definitly make money from it

oppsite from toyota they are getting bigger everyday and you will get a fair price no matter what you own

if you think the CTS depreciation is bad you want to check out the CTR depreciation :meet:

changing car is always going to be expensive you are losing money on your current car you also need to pay the extra for the car you want to buy

you know what they said if you cant take the heat get out the kitchen ;)

ok - managed to wangle(!) a 04CTS as a courtesy car last and today as my car getting its 30000 mile service. Begs the question why when i'm thinking of changing but i'm not particularly an organised person! anyway - have accumlated many miles in the new car already - must take an extended lunch today! i have

one question WHY?! why did they not fit 17" wheels!! always thought my 16"s were small but they looked dwarfed now even tho the car is lowered. THink it is the side skirts etc. :(

second - i always loved the silver dash around the radio etc. Now its dull black. shame.

third - my foot slipped of the clutch when i got in from the wet pavement

fourth- dont you just love the noise. - i notice with delight a new engine sound in and around 7000-8000 revs - like a small wine(?) almost believe i'm in a rally car now. - overall the sound is good. More raw perhaps?

nice job - but worth forking out more money? - still undecided - <_<

1 16inch wheel are best performace for the CTS

2 dull black :D is called the carbon fibre look

3 are you wearing high heels :D

4 is the same engine is it not ?

to be honest you have it all in your current CTS the main issue i have with the facelift cts is that is no more faster than the CTS i have

in fact with all the new toys and bodykit is actuly slower then pre-facelift CTS if anyone thinks is faster they are lieing to themself

Hi guys,

In defence of the 350Z & as I now work in the Nissan dealer network(wish I was still with Toyota!) any 1 year old cars that you have seen for £18k will be imports!

There was an article a few weeks back in the Daily Mail I think it was that talked about vehicle depreciation after 6 months & the 350Z was 0%!!

The first batch of UK 350Z's arrived in the country last October & ive only seen a couple come up on the used market & they were up for new car money!

People are prepared to pay that rather than wait the typical 4 months for a new one.

Oh & by the way I think the 350Z & X-Trail are the only decent cars Nissan make, I still love Toyota!

Easy to tell where your car is built - there is a little label/sticker in the windscreen.

In general all three and five door hatchbacks are built in the UK, all saloons, estates and new Versos built in Turkey.

However, we can switch between UK and Japanese production for Corolla hatch to bets meet demand. That might mean UK needs to build more Avensis, so fewer Corolla, hence Corollas come in from Japan.

The Corollas that could come from Japan are:

T2 5 door 1.4 man

T3 5 door 1.4 man

T3 5 door 1.6 man

T3 5 door 1.6 auto

TSpirit 5 door 1.6 5 door man

These derivatives could also be produced at TMUK meaning there could be vehicles from both sources available for sale at the same time.

As to build quality, there is no difference

toyota dealer looking 5700 to change to the demo car i had out yesterday (had few extras) or 7000 to buy new 04CTS along with my own. so they only giving 500 more than honda dealership. - have decided (almost!) that its not worth upgrading!

sigh
