I looked into retro fitting AC into an MR2 before I bought mine, the kit from Toyota apparently around £1300 (sounds about right) and was quoted around £400 labour to fit (AC specialist).

I spoke to Patrick and Matt at Rogue a little while back and at that time they had the full factory option aircon kit for the uk MR2 all boxed up, brand new and unused. Def worth giving them a call.
