Program a transponder key for a 19 chr

I'm trying to program a transponder key on my 19 chr how do I do this

I hope you find the answer and that it is understandable.   I tried to find out on the Internet and found numerous ways suggested on You Tube, one I remember suggested switching the ignition on and off and opening the  drivers door a a set number of times to put the car into some programming mode.  In the end my head was spinning with ideas, some of which were very suspect, in the end I gave up and purchased a new key and had it programmed at the dealership.

I'm open to correction, but if I remember correctly, it's a dealer only job.

Yep afraid so as big D said pretty sure it’s a dealer job I had a Renault Laguna some years ago lost one of the keys new key and remote and programming by dealer £200 approx probably nearer to £300 now.
