I've Blown it

Well, after watching YouTube videos on car cleaning I thought I would give it a go to save time and blow dry the car with a leaf blower. It didn't work, it took longer than doing it with microfibre towels.

Has anyone else tried this and did it work for them. (The blower is quite powerful and I followed the video techniques).

I do this on my bike and have a dedicated leaf blower just for this. I have no issues. Maybe it's because it's a smaller area.

I just could not clear the water off the car it took ages just to do one small bit. I gave up in the end as I was worried I may not have enough years ahead to finish it.

I think I will stick to the towels in future.

I can only imagine you were somehow blowing on it wrong or your car is really dirty!  (Water 'sticks' more if the car is dirtier - If it's been waxed or has a hydrophobic sealant the water just beads off and can be blown off much easier.)

I must be honest the car was not dirty as it gets cleaned regularly. However it had been a couple of weeks since I waxed it.

I will wax again and see how the blower does when the next wash is due.

You may well be right on the wax front.

Thanks

If you have a duckbill attachment for your blower, so it blows a faster flatter stream of air, that might help also, if you're just using the normal round blower pipe
