Hello there people :D

T'is a newbie here, I'm 16 but 17 at end of this month and I'm thinking about a Starlet SR. Done some insurance quotes and its cheaper than 1100cc 106s etc.

I know a few bits and bobs about this car as I work at Toyota as a Parts Consultant and would like to know what would be the best air filter & exhaust combo for this car?

Hi Matty

Welcome to the club mate  Hope you enjoy your stay here. The starlet Sr is a great looking car and would be a ideal first car for you. It's small and nippy excellent choice in car my friend  About tuning parts for the car i really couldn't tell you sorry mate. But I'm sure that some one with better knowledge will be along shortly

HI there, good choice in the Starlet SR.

What colour is ur car? Metallic Black is the limited one, seeing that normal starlets don't come in metallic black in the UK.

As for the air filter, i used an Blitz Induction Kit, there isn't much in the performance, but the sound is brilliant. As for the exhaust, you have got the standard TTE yeah? Try powerflow.

Welcome to the club mate and hope to see ur starlet pics.

I've been to look at a few, some have still got the TTE backbox and one has gone back to a normal backbox, becuase it was cheaper.

Would like a white one, for the rally styleeeee look, strip it, buckets and harnesses, maybe have the Speedlines sprayed white aswell.

I will post my pics up soon as I've bought and collected my little beast B)

Oh yeah, and does anybody know where I can buy the small front bumper chin from, I've seen it on a Black SR on this site, but can't remember who's it was.

The Chin spoiler is on Shelly's car and is from TTE.

As for insurabce they are a group 5 i think.

Exhaust Apexi N1 all the way sounds amazing also Apex filters filter the best out of all of them.

Is there a link for the TTE site, as I've looked on the dealer intranet at work and Toyota don't offer no TTE body modifications, on the TTE backbox and the TTE lowering springs which are fitted as standard.

Hi Matty

Yes the SR comes with standard TTE springs and the backbox.

Car is group 5 insurance.

As for the TTE front splitter, contact them in Germany

Sales.order2@TOYOTA-F1.COM

Here's the TTE website TTE

But i think someone did email them and they said that the splitter is about £140, pricey i know, and that's not even sprayed up either.

So it's up to you how much you wanna spend on it. I'm happy with mine

Here's the topic on it and also pics Clicky

Any more questions i try to give u the info i have, even though i aint good at advice :P

Cheers

Cheers for the link Shelly :)

Think I'll probably end up buying one of those splitters as it makes the front of the Starlet look different to any old Sportif, S or whatever.

It's alright Matty, anytime if u need help.

I think for that price of the splitter it includes the delivery and flight cost.
