PHEV... Where is the locking wheel nut thingy

Each,

Looking for help if I may?

On delivery where should I have found this?

I don't think I was supplied with one. Looked in the glove compartment, under the floor panel etc. Any secret compartment I'm missing?

Also noted no wheel wrench. There's a slot but no wrench.

Just been in for what turned out to be a slightly shambolic service (they couldn't upload the ESC software update for the recall so now I need to rebook ffs).

It will depend on where your 'dealer' would normally put it - mine leaves the (un)locking wheel nut thingy in the locking wheel nut box in the glove compartment.

The only other sensible place I can think of is where the spare wheel isn't.

And since you weren't supplied with a spare wheel, you won't have been supplied with a wheel brace or a jack - so you should have slots for both but no tools ...

Mine was in the box of wheel nuts that originally had the locking ones in but contained the original standard nuts they replaced. It was left in the glovebox with a towing eye.

As Philip says, no wrench with having no spare wheel in mine.

Cheers Philip. Yes thanks, slots for jack and brace but no tools. Only the gunk kit and inflation pump. That's ok, makes sense if I ain't got a spare wheel there's no need for the tools. But, if I'm stranded somewhere and can lump to a garage or the AA turns up then I probably need the locking nut key for the wheels?

Looked in all those places. No sign. 😥

Will need to contact the company car folk me thinks.

Cheers buddy. Ironically I have the tow bolt. That was in its slot next to where the wrench or brace and jack should have been.

I assume that you actually have locking wheel nuts? Stupid question but it had to be asked ...

... and if you do, you definitely need, and should have been supplied with, the 'key'.

Edit: and, yes, you have to be supplied with a towing eye so that the emergency services etc. can tow your car when needed.

Wheel nut key, is usually in the black nut box have a look in the boot behind the trim covers, assuming they fitted them in the first place

try under the false floor and under the storage box/tray

Cheers. Yes, towing eye in its slot under the boot panel.

One locking Wheel nut on each wheel. Checked that first thinking the same, they didn't give me one because there weren't any fitted. Alas not though.

Like the others mine was in a grey plastic box, that originally held the locking nuts. The box had been placed under the boot cover with the puncture kit.

Cheers matey. Tried all those places. No joy. Pretty sure I've never seen it. I'll get on to my people to sort it.

I always located mine in the glove box with the wheel nuts that have been removed to fit them.

Yes in a nice little box.

Mine was in a box of wheel nuts that they had removed to fit the locking wheel nuts to the car, 4 wheel nuts plus the unlocking key nut.

Thanks Ernie. I've got them to order a new key set since I never got it by the look of it. Dunno what they cost. I don't pay anything at all on the company scheme even if I smash it. Saving grace.
